Metal cutting machines form the main part of the process equipment. The share of mechanical workshops at machine-building enterprises is about 40%. Today, cutting is the main method of obtaining machine parts.

Metalworking equipment occupies a special place among the various equipment used in industry, because it is intended for the manufacture of parts of this equipment, that is, for the production of means of production. A machine is a machine designed for dimensional processing of blanks in order to form given surfaces by removing chips. Processing is carried out mainly by cutting with blade or abrasive tools. Machine tools include other machines using other methods of metal removal, such as electrophysical methods, electrochemical methods, beam methods, etc.

To perform course work, you need to have an idea of ​ ​ the main types of metal-working machines, and their main characteristics, the skills of kinematic adjustment of the metal-cutting machine to certain cutting modes obtained earlier in the study of the discipline "Metal-cutting machines," as well as information from other courses, primarily on the courses "Cutting Tool," "Machine Details," "Materials Science." Therefore, when performing coursework, knowledge is fixed on other previously completed courses .

Conclusion

When performing course work on "Metal Cutting Machines," the knowledge in this discipline obtained during the past training period was practically applied.

The purpose of this course work was, according to the initial data, to tune the 5E32 gearbox for the manufacture of a cylindrical helical gear and to tune the 2A135 drilling machine for the surface treatment specified in the condition.

As a result of the solution of this course work, the purpose and technical characteristics of the machines, their main components and operating principles were studied, the kinematic diagrams of the machines were considered. Cutting tool materials have also been selected and justified for each machining operation to determine the desired cutting modes. We have familiarized ourselves with the basic safety provisions of the tooth processing and drilling machine groups. Skills were gained thanks to which we were able to tune the 5E32 and 2A135 mills. According to the course work, the 5E32 toothbrush was adjusted for the manufacture of cylindrical helical gears, as well as the 2A135 drilling machine for processing a given surface in the form of a hole.

With the help of the skills obtained during the course work, we can solve similar tasks that can be set for us in other course works, a diploma project, as well as in production.
