Introduction

The turbocharger is designed to supply air to the diesel engine under excessive pressure in order to increase the power and increase the economy of the diesel engine.

The turbocompressor is located on the bracket, which is attached to the end of the engine, and consists of a single-stage axial turbine, which operates due to the energy of the exhaust gases, and a single-stage centrifugal compressor.

Turbocompressor consists of fixed parts - stator and movable parts - rotor.

Stator consists of branch pipe, air snail, vane diffuser, middle housing, turbine housing, outlet branch pipe.

Middle housing halves are secured to each other by bolts and studs. On the middle housing there are: nozzle apparatus bushing and nozzle apparatus, bearings: support-thrust and support. Gas snails with a flange centering the snail are bolted to the middle body.

Diffuser and outlet branch pipe are bolted to turbine housing.

Blades on the turbine disk are attached using Christmas-shaped locks. Turbine disc is fitted on rotor shaft with guaranteed tension and fixed with radial pins.

Compressor impeller is connected to rotor by splined joint and secured by nut.

The middle body and the turbine body are cast from low-melting alloys and, to prevent their overheating, have cavities into which cooling liquid is supplied through the holes for cooling the bodies.

Support-thrust and support bearings are composite. The outer bearing bodies are made of steel, and the inner inserts are made of bronze.

The turbocompressor is supported by the legs of the turbine housing on the engine bracket, and is bolted to the bracket.
