Introduction

Caterpillar cranes among rail-free cranes have the highest cross-country ability and maneuverability (with the exception of short-gas cranes). Low specific pressure on the ground (from 0.06 to 0.2 MPa), a significant supporting circuit provides the ability to move the machine along the soil platforms. The disadvantage of their large specific resistance to movement and low speeds.

Cranes installed on tractors are divided into two main types, these are: boom cranes and cranes pipe laying

Boom cranes on tractors are a group of small-capacity vehicles. As a base of cranes, serial tracked tractors are usually used. For short distances or from object to object, cranes move in their own way (up to 15 km/h), when transporting over long distances, trailers or railway platforms are used.

The pipe-laying crane consists of a basic machine and a caterpillar tractor, mounted lifting and transportation equipment, a control system and is designed to hold the pipeline during its cleaning and insulation, laying pipelines in trenches, etc.

Unlike other boom cranes, the pipe laying is equipped with an A-shaped side boom, the load moment on which is balanced usually by a hinged counter load. Boom of pipe laying has two movements - lifting and lowering. The pipe-laying device can move with full load corresponding to this flight.

Tractor cranes-pipe laying operate in a mode different from the mode of operation of conventional lifting cranes. So, the main condition of their work is the lifting by several pipe layouts of a simultaneously welded pipe stack. The load on each pipe-laying device depends not only on the line weight and the distance between the pipe-laying devices, but also on the height by which the load is raised, since the load distribution between the individual machines changes.
