Introduction
The purpose of the course project is to consolidate the theoretical knowledge acquired during the courses "Ship auxiliary mechanisms, devices and systems," "Operation of ship auxiliary mechanisms and devices." In the process of work on the project, students gain practical skills in selecting and calculating ship auxiliary power equipment that provides the necessary navigation and operational qualities of the ship, and work out issues of its technical operation.
The course project consists of two parts. The first provides for the determination of the necessary parameters and the selection of equipment and mechanisms of ship's devices, as well as equipment and mechanisms of ship's and special systems .
The second part of the project (individual task) includes the calculation and design of a specific device, mechanism or machine. This can be the calculation and design of a pump (fan) for one of the ship's general systems (sanitary, ballast, draining, etc.) or the calculation and design of any ship's device (steering, anchor, etc.).
In the graphic part of this section, a drawing of the general view of the calculated pump (fan) or ship's device is being developed, for example, a steering device with a plunger, rack-plunger or blade drive. The same section deals with the technical operation of this device or mechanism. 5 Specific questions to be developed in the project are determined by the teacher and given in the assignment for the course project.
Conclusion
In the process of working on the course project, we gained practical skills in selecting and calculating ship auxiliary power equipment that ensures the navigation and operational qualities of the ship. Worked out the technical issues of the operation of CEVOS.
In the first part of the course project, they determined the necessary parameters and selected the equipment of ship's general systems, as well as the equipment and mechanisms of ship's devices.
In the second part of the course project, an electro-hydraulic steering machine with a planetary gear was calculated and its technical operation was described.
