3. Workability of part, assembly

Processability is a set of design properties that determine its adaptability when optimal costs are achieved during production, operation, maintenance and repair for given quality indicators, output volume and work conditions.

These requirements include:

a) correct selection of the material grade depending on the working conditions of the part or assembly;

b) uniformity of properties of the part in cross section;

c) constant properties and dimensions of the part over time;

d) satisfactory machinability by cutting;

e) low cost and prevalence of material.

Due to the fact that the type of production is serial, it is necessary to use machines already available in the fleet of equipment and surfaces in the manufacture of the socket, which do not require special accuracy to be carried out on the most common machines .

When considering processability, it is necessary to notice the cleanliness of the treatment, the accuracy of the production of the mounting surfaces. These are the most time-consuming operations .

When drilling it is necessary to use a special tool, since holes are drilled at an angle to the guide.

4. Select the type of workpiece and how it is produced

To select the workpiece correctly means to correctly determine the rational method of its production, to establish allowances for its mechanical processing.

The usefulness, cost-effectiveness and efficiency of a particular type of procurement depends on several factors:

- process properties of the material;

- part design and dimensions;

- accuracy of workpiece execution and required quality of its surface;

- release programs;

A part is a surface of revolution. Inner and outer diameters differ by a small amount. Therefore, it is not advisable to use one-piece procurement because a large amount of material is removed. Therefore, for the socket, the workpiece selects a pipe.

5. Routing processing technology

When you begin to create a processing process, you must first draw up a processing plan - routing technology, in order to ensure the most rational processing of the part.

The purpose of machining is to ensure the specified dimensions of the part and the required surface quality.

The sequencing should be guided by the following considerations:

1. First of all, you need to treat the surfaces of the part, which are bases for further processing.

2. The surfaces with the highest allowances are then processed.

3. The more precise the surface, the later it should be treated, as this will prevent deformation due to the redistribution of internal stresses.

4. The most accurate surfaces with the lowest roughness must be treated last.

5. It is desirable not to combine rough and finishing machining on one machine .

Based on the planned processing plan, the roadmap is filled in.

7. Fixture Design

In the process of obtaining the part, the following devices are used:

1) Conductor for drilling of three holes Ø3 and two holes Ø7.7. Drill holes in the guide cylindrical surface of the part.

2) Accessory for run-out control. It is used to control the run-out. With respect to surface AND with stop on end face B, run-out of surface K is not more than 0.04 mm.

3) Holder of three incisors. Fixes the cutters that are used in subsequent part machining.

4) Conductor for socket. It is used to obtain a hole Ø5 at an angle of 20 °. This poses additional difficulties since the opening is not at right angles to the cylindrical base of the socket.

Consider a conductor for drilling three holes Ø3 and two holes Ø7.7. Blank is installed, clamped by means of grip (9) and pressed by screw (10). The accessory is designed for drilling holes of diameter - 3 mm and 7.7 mm. The diameter is selected by switching the handle (26) to the desired position.

In order not to skew the grip, a disk (2) is used. During the drilling process, a force perpendicular to the cutting surface acts on the workpiece from the drill. To compensate for this force, the socket is dressed on a disk (2).
