Development of technology for machining the Shaft part

Part The shaft is made of structural high-quality steel 40X and has a hardness of 226 HB. Given the hardness of the part, heat treatment should be carried out after machining.

On the product "Shaft" there is free access of the tool to all surfaces to be processed. All planes, at the part of rotation, are located either perpendicular or parallel to each other. All holes are also located at right angles to the ends of the cylindrical part, which greatly simplifies their processing.

The part has a number of surfaces that are sufficient in size and location to determine them as base. They are also design bases. Taking into account all these characteristics, this part is technologically advanced and easy to process.

The purpose of 40X steel is shafts, gears, bushings, power studs, couplings, bolts, worms and other parts, which are subject to all the requirements of high strength, ductility, core toughness and high surface hardness, operating under the influence of shock loads and at low temperatures [1].
