Introduction

A clutch is a power clutch in which torque transmission is provided by friction forces, hydrodynamic forces or an electromagnetic field. Such couplings are referred to as frictional, hydraulic and electromagnetic couplings, respectively.

Clutch serves for temporary disconnection of engine and transmission and their smooth connection .

Temporary disconnection of the engine and transmission is necessary during gearshift, braking and stopping of the car, and smooth connection - after gearshift and when touching the car from the place.

When the car is moving, the clutch in the on state transmits torque from the engine to the gearbox and protects the transmission mechanisms from dynamic loads arising in the transmission. Thus, loads in the transmission increase with abrupt braking with the engine, abrupt engagement, uneven engine operation and a sharp decrease in crankshaft speed, impingement of wheels on road irregularities, etc.
