Introduction

Course design is the final stage of studying the course "Lifting Equipment" and aims to consolidate and deepen the knowledge gained by students in studying the theoretical course, prepare them for solving more complex engineering problems, and develop skills for independent creative work. The following basic design principles shall be used in the course design:

- rationally designed and correctly constructed car has to be strong, durable, cheap and economic in work and also safe for the serving her faces;

- it is necessary to apply the principle of separation of functions between individual machine mechanisms, since the assignment of a large number of functions to the same mechanism complicates its design and reduces reliability;

the geometrical shapes of the parts are taken to be simple, easy to obtain when machining, since, as a rule, the simplest-shaped part is the most reliable;

- wide use of standard parts and assemblies in the design, which will facilitate the design process and reduce the time spent on manufacturing the machine;

- aim to reduce harmful resistance in the machine, i.e. increase its efficiency.

The design of the conveying machine typically includes the following steps:

- preparation of kinematic diagram of mechanisms and assemblies;

- selection and calculation of the machine traction element (chains, belts);

- determination of traction element movement resistance in separate sections of the transporting machine;

- calculation of the largest and lowest values of the traction member force of the machine;

- calculation of traction (circumferential) forces on the drive drum or drive sprockets;

- determination of required power on the driving shaft and electric motor power;

- kinematic calculation (selection of electric motor and reduction gear box);

- selection and calculation of tensioning and safety devices;

- selection of type and calculation of loading and unloading devices (check calculation of axes and shafts is performed according to instructor's instructions);

- selection of bearings for shafts and axes of drums or sprockets;

- construction of frame - metal structure of conveying machine.
