Description
Detail and BOM drawing plus note.
Construction Description - The radiator is disassembled at the turntable. On this bench (Figure 2.1) it is possible to perform disassembly and assembly works and test the radiator for tightness. The welded bath 1 is rectangular in shape and has a horizontal partition 3 in the form of a second bottom. Pipe 18 is welded in middle part of partition. A post (pneumatic lift) is installed near the bath foundation, on the rod 11 of which there is a bracket 10 with a rotary fork 7 for installing a radiator.

2.1 Purpose and Scope
During overhaul of cars to eliminate defects, radiators are usually disassembled.
For these purposes, radiator repair offices are organized at ARZ.
Cooling system radiators may have the following defects: leakage in solder seams, leakage of core tubes, damage to tanks (cracks, dents), damage to cooling plates (leakage), clogging of tubes and scale deposition. It is recommended to repair the radiators in such a sequence: perform an external inspection and leak test, disassemble the radiator, wash and remove the scale, check the tubes for tightness, repair the core, repair the tank, assemble the radiator, test the radiator, paint.
The tightness of the radiator is checked with compressed air under a pressure of 0.5 kg/cm2 (excessive). During the inspection, the radiator is immersed in a bath of water. Holes of branch pipes are previously closed with plugs, through one of which air is supplied.
Bubbles of outgoing air indicate the presence of defects, the places of which are marked with ink.
To disassemble, defect and leak test, we call for the use of a bench for disassembling radiators and checking it for tightness.
Operating Manual
The bench is designed for operation in closed rooms with positive temperature conditions.
The device must be mounted at a distance of at least 5 m from the electrical appliances.
During installation of the bench it is necessary to ensure reliable grounding. Workers must work on rubber mats in protective suits.
To install the radiator in fork (7) (Figure 2.1), turn off the beam (6) and put the radiator on the lower part of the fork, lower the beam, fix it. Turn the flywheel (5) to move the clamping screw and fix the radiator.
If necessary, the radiator can be rotated together with the fork on the shaft 9 and locked in position by the retainer 8.
Lifting and lowering of fork - control the crane (pedal 13).
To fill the upper part of the bath with water, compressed air is supplied to the lower part of the bath through the tube 17. The displaced water will fill the top of the bath where the radiator can be designed. As a source of compressed air, use a compressor or a compressor station ARZ.
