Description

Steering development strives to improve safety and ensure maximum comfort. Minimalism in design, ease of control are all integral parts of modern steering. Also, the car should be driven with minimal energy losses. All this led to the widespread distribution in modern cars and trucks of small classes of steering, which has a rack steering mechanism. It has only one drawback - the transmission of vibrations and impacts on the steering wheel when the car moves various irregularities, and therefore the rack steering mechanism is not used on trucks of large classes. But this mechanism also has a number of advantages:

The simplicity and compactness of the design;

The high efficiency;

The low cost;

The reliability is high.

Purpose and purpose of development

The steering control in the vehicle is designed to ensure the movement of the vehicle in the direction specified by the driver.

The purpose of the development is to simplify the design, increase efficiency and reduce the cost of steering.

Development Requirements

Functional requirements

Ease of control;

Force and kinematic tracking action;

Rolling of controlled wheels with minimum lateral removal;

Stabilisation of controlled wheels after turning.

Requirements to composition and development parameters

Overall and installation dimensions of all units and units of the developed steering control shall be related to the dimensions of the analogue.

Introduction

In the discipline "Design and calculation of a car and a tractor," the main design issues of units, systems and assemblies of ground vehicles are considered.

The purpose of the course design is to master the basis of design and calculation of the main components of the vehicle transmission, as well as the development of design documentation.

The following skills need to be learned:

to study modern solutions in the field of transmission design;

Study and use standards and regulations in the design of components;

be able to assess the impact of design changes on operating parameters and on the cost of the vehicle, evaluate the feasibility of making design changes;

own methods for calculating the main elements of the vehicle transmission, be able to evaluate the results obtained during the calculations;

be able to technically competently execute drawings.

Conclusion

As a result of the course work, a third-class truck with a modernization of steering was calculated.

During the course work, the following objectives were achieved:

to study modern solutions in the field of transmission design;

Study and use standards and regulations in the design of components;

be able to assess the impact of design changes on operating parameters and on the cost of the vehicle, evaluate the feasibility of making design changes;

own methods for calculating the main elements of the vehicle transmission, be able to evaluate the results obtained during the calculations;

be able to technically competently execute drawings.

During the course project, software on a personal computer was widely used:

MS Word;

COMPASS-3D V14.

As a result of the calculations, the steering of a third-class truck was modernized, which corresponds to the technical assignment.
