Description
An actuator is a device for driving various working machines with an engine.
The purpose of the drive is to reduce the angular velocity and increase the torque of the driven shaft compared to the drive shaft.
The gearbox consists of a housing in which the transmission elements are placed - gears, shafts, bearings, etc. In some cases, lubrication devices or cooling devices are also placed in the housing.
Horizontal gearboxes are the most common. Both horizontal and vertical gearboxes can have straight, oblique, and circular tooth wheels. The body is most often made of cast iron, less often welded steel. The sealed gearbox housing and lubrication system ensure greater durability and reliability of gears, which is the advantage of gearboxes over open gears.
Mechanical transmissions are devices that serve to transfer power and propulsion from the engine to the actuator. As a rule, the speed of motion is converted, and sometimes the types of motion (e.g., rotational to translational) are converted.
In this computational and graphical work, the following transfers are considered :
- Flexible coupling transmission (belt);
- Direct contact gearing (geared).
