Purpose of the installation:

The grounding and lightning protection system is designed to ensure the safety of people, to protect and protect the building from explosions, fires, destruction and effects of the electromagnetic field, possible during lightning strikes.

The main decisions taken in the project:

Lightning protection of the boiler building is carried out by means of a system consisting of:

• Lightning receptacle - designed to receive lightning discharge.

• Lightning current collector - designed to remove the lightning discharge current from the lightning receptacle to the grounding device.

• Grounding device - designed for sewerage and safe distribution of lightning current in the ground.

• Lightning-proof potential equalization - designed to equalize the potentials in the building resulting from the guidance or drift of lightning discharge energy.

Characteristics of the building:

The building is a production building. The following are installed in the production building: Gas boilers of the category class of rooms according to NPB 10595 - "D," the class of zones according to PUE - "PII," "D" and PII. "

The frame of the building is metal columns and beams. All metal non-conductive parts of structures shall be grounded.

Lightning protection category III, zone B.

General Data:

Lightning protection is carried out by installing a vertical electrode (lightning receptacle) up to 2 m long and 10mm diameter (according to GOST 578182) on the pipe. Connect the current collector (9 mm diameter steel cable as per GOST 1384068) by welding to the lightning receptacle and grounding device. The location of the connection point should be clarified in place (the connection point is in the air).

The grounding conductor is made in the form of steel angles 5 * 50 * 50, long 3 m each, connected to each other by steel strip 4 * 40 mm.

In accordance with PUE (item 1.7.61), the resistance of the re-grounding grounding conductor is not normalized.

Open-laid protective grounding conductors shall be black coloured to meet the requirements of PTEEP (item 2.7.7).

Install lightning protection, grounding device and grounding conductors in accordance with the requirements of PUE, SniP 3.05.0686, SniP 230595,

Resistance of metal connection between grounding conductor and grounded electrical equipment shall not exceed Rzzo < 0.1 Ohm.

Grounding device:

An artificial grounding conductor is used as the grounding device. The grounding conductor is designed in accordance with RD 34.21.12287. The grounding device consists of three equal-beam steel angles (5 * 50 * 50) long 3 m each, connected by steel strip 4 * 40. The distance between the earthing terminals is 5 m. The connection shall be made by welding.

Fire fighting measures:

Fire safety is ensured by the following solutions:

• Lightning protection organization;

• Grounding device for electrical installations.

• Application of electrical installation products and materials corresponding to environmental conditions and nominal voltage

• Selection of grades and cross sections of conductors, methods of their laying, meeting the requirements of PUE, GOST R50571.15-97

Completion of construction and installation works (CIW) for external grounding and lightning protection shall be confirmed by execution of the following documents:

• Act on hidden works on the device of the grounding device, indicating the layout of the grounding electrode and binding to existing structures.

• Certificate of delivery - acceptance of the completed CIW on the device of the grounding device and lightning protection.

• Certificate for grounding device and lightning protection device.

• Current flow resistance measurement protocol through the grounding device.

There are no technical solutions that require verification for patent purity in the project.
