Introduction
In this course project, a complex of a water supply system is being developed for an industrial enterprise for the production of polyethylene located in the Tomsk region. The capacity of the plant for the main product is 15,000 m3/year. The absolute elevation of the treatment plant site is 95 m, the depth of groundwater is 6.0 m. For the water supply of the enterprise, underground source water is used.
Water at the enterprise is spent on household and technological needs. Water supplied for technological needs passes the clarifying filter with a floating charge. Due to increased salt content, water is subjected to demineralization by ion exchange method on Nkathionite and SOanionite filters. Before desalination, the content of salts in water is 820.7 mg/l, after desalination - up to 20 mg/l.
To cool the water used in the cooling water supply, 7 fan cooling towers are used.
Protection against scale formation is not required in this course project.
Industrial Plant Production Cycle Description
1.1.Production and direction of water use
Plastics factories produce: polyethylene, polystyrenes, vinyl acetate and its derivatives: polyvinyl acetate dispersion; plasticizers and ion exchange resins. This industry includes the production of phenolic based glue, resin glue and artificial resins, as well as phenolic and epoxy resins.
Polyethylene is obtained by polymerizing ethylene in gasoline at a temperature of 80 ° C and a pressure of 3 kgf/cm2 in the presence of a catalyst complex of diethyl aluminum chloride with titanium tetrachloride.
Water supply and water quality requirements
In the production of polyethylene, water is used to cool equipment and condensate. Water supply system - cooling water with cooling water on the cooling tower. Water supply is carried out by three systems: recycled, fresh technical and drinking water.
Steam condensate is used for process needs (washing of polymer, devices and utilities of the polymerization shop, preparation of solutions of initiators and additives for polymerization).
Sewerage and wastewater characteristics
Sewerage is provided by three networks: chemically contaminated, industrial-rain and domestic wastewater.
Process Water Preparation
7.1. Justification of the accepted water treatment scheme
This course project requires process water with a suspended substance content of 1.5 mg/l, a color of 20 deg, a salt content of 20 mg/l. Fresh water from the source has the following characteristics: turbidity 13 mg/l, chromaticity 15 mg/l, permanganate oxidability 3.4 mg O2/l, salt content 820.7 mg/l.
The main method of water purification is desalting. For this course project, the ion exchange method is used for desalination. The method requires the following characteristics of the source water:
- Salt content - up to 2 g/l;
- SO42 and Cl content up to 5 mg/l;
- Suspended substances - up to 8 mg/l;
- Chromaticity - up to 30 deg.;
- Permanganate oxidability - up to 7 mg O2/l.
To reduce turbidity in the source water, filtration of water on filters with a floating charge of FPF is used.
