Introduction
A significant increase in the pace of construction of new, high-comfort housing poses a difficult task for designers to provide heat to the consumer. At the present stage, the solution of this problem requires the use of new, efficient, environmentally friendly, modern heat supply systems. In our cities, the main source of heat, as before, remains the centralized heat supply from the CHP and district boiler houses, which supply the consumer with hot water and steam for household needs, heating and ventilation of residential and public buildings. Steam heat supply systems in Ukraine are distributed mainly in industrial enterprises where high-temperature heat load is required. Abroad, in heat supply systems, steam as a coolant is used differently in different countries. In the USA and Belgium, steam is accepted as the only coolant. In most European countries (Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Denmark), steam systems account for 1-10% of the length of heating networks, and in Germany and Finland - up to 30-40%. In Iceland and Norway, steam as a coolant is not used at all.
