Introduction

A reduction gear is a mechanism that reduces the angular speed in the drives from the main movement of the electric motor to the working machine and consists of a gear or worm gear installed in a separate housing.

Gearboxes are widely used in various branches of mechanical engineering and therefore they are very diverse in their kinematic scheme and design.

Gearbox housings shall be strong and rigid. They are cast from gray cast iron. For convenience of assembly, gearbox housings are made detachable.

The supports of the shafts of the reduction gears, as a rule, are rolling bearings.

In most cases, gearbox gears are lubricated by immersion, and bearings are lubricated by spraying or plastic lubricant. Oil is poured into the gearbox housing at the rate of 0.4... 0, 7l at 1kW of transmitted power, while the wheel must be immersed in oil to a depth of at least the height of the tooth or turn.

In this course design, the drive of the bridge crane movement mechanism, consisting of an engine, an open spur gear and a gear reduction gear, is calculated.
