Introduction

Process tooling is a means of technological tooling that complements the process equipment for performing a certain part of the technological process - a technological operation.

Process tooling classification by purpose:

1. Tooling for installation of parts: cartridges of various design (cam, collet), clutches of various design and embossing type, drilling devices, grabs, etc.;

2. Tooling for installation of cutting tool: cutter holders, cartridges for cutting tool, devices for installation of throwers, adapter bushings, etc.;

3. Instrumentation for the installation of measuring tools: devices for measuring radial, end and axial run-out, all kinds of racks, mounting plates, etc.;

4. Accessories: turntable, stops (for example, to restrict the movement of the caliper), conductor slabs and auxiliary, etc.

The most interesting of all types of technological tooling are devices for the installation of blanks. Machine tools of this kind are developed depending on the sizing that is required in a particular process operation, their accuracy, the configuration of the workpiece, the type of production.

Classification of process equipment depending on the level of automation and mechanization:

1. Manual accessories: installation and fixing of blanks is carried out by muscular force of the worker;

2. Mechanized devices: the workpiece installation is performed by the worker, and the fixing is carried out using hydraulic or pneumatic power devices (hydraulic drive, pneumatic drive);

3. Automated devices: the installation of the workpiece and its fixation is carried out in automatic mode using various robot manipulators.

Classification of process equipment depending on the degree of universalization:

1. Universal accessories:

- General purpose: clutches, cartridges, dividing heads;

- Universal-prefabricated devices: universal-prefabricated devices (USP), universal-demounting devices (UBP), prefabricated devices (PSP);

2. Special accessories: used in serial, large-scale and mass production, designed and manufactured to equip a technological operation in order to process one particular part or group of parts that have a structural similarity and differ in only some sizes.

Machine tools are used in a specific process operation (machine) to solve the following main process tasks:

1. Improved machining accuracy: for example, the use of a collet chuck compared to a 3-cam chuck makes it possible to improve the shape accuracy of the machined outer and inner cylindrical surfaces of bushing-type parts. This is due to the uniform distribution of the pressure on the workpiece from the side of the cartridge and, accordingly, less deformation.

2. Increased productivity: for example, the use of multi-seat devices allows you to process several parts in one installation; use of an aggregate drill head makes it possible to drill several holes simultaneously.

3. Expansion of machine capabilities: for example, the use of special drill heads on milling machines allows drilling with high cutting speeds (drill speed - n = 4000... 5000 rpm)

As a rule, the use of machine tools can solve several technological tasks at once. For example, the use of a conductor plate allows you to increase the accuracy of holes, process non-technological (inclined) holes and exclude the marking operation (gluing).
