Description

In the XIX century, when the active electrification of railways began, the first substations appeared. They consisted of transformers and other elements for converting and transmitting electricity. Over time, substations became more complex and more efficient, and began to use modern control and monitoring systems. At present, transit substations are complex engineering structures that provide reliable and safe power supply to railway transport.

The first substations appeared in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the electrification of railways began and there was a need to convert and transmit electricity over long distances.

At that time, substations were quite primitive and consisted of transformers, switches and other elements that allowed the conversion and transmission of electricity. With the development of technology and the emergence of new materials and design methods, substations have become more complex and efficient.

There are several types of intermediate substations, each of which has its own characteristics and functions. For example, traction substations are used to power electric vehicles, transformer substations are designed to convert voltage, distribution substations are responsible for distributing electricity between consumers, and transmission substations are used to transmit electricity between different electrical systems.

Intermediate traction substations are special electrical substations that are used to provide power to railway transport and urban electric transport. They serve to convert and distribute electrical energy coming from external sources in such a way that it can be used to move trains or other electric vehicles.
