Description

ZiL engines - eight-cylinder, carburetor, four-stroke with a two-row arrangement of cylinders. Angle between rows of cylinders is equal to 90 °. On the basis of a large group of basic parts of a single size, such as a cylinder block, a crankshaft, its bearings, connecting rods, parts of a gas distribution mechanism, it was possible to create the Short-run family of engines capable of working in the most difficult conditions. The ZiL-130 engine was referred to the fifth research series in which a number of changes were made compared to the fourth series: 1) Increase in the length of the piston; 2) To increase wear resistance, the two upper compression rings are chromized; 3) The used two-section oil pump in which the section should supply oil only to the oil radiator; 4) To limit the maximum engine speed, a centrifugal-vacuum limiter is installed with a drive from the engine camshaft; The correctness of the main design solutions aimed at achieving high reliability was tested experimentally. Given this, it was decided to organize mass production of engines in 1964. At maximum power, the revolutions are 3000 per minute at a compression level of 6.5. The cylinder capacity of such an engine is 5996 cubic meters. see, the K-88 carburetor of the ZiL-130 engine is characterized by a two-chamber structure, an upper location and a falling flow. The design uses an economical device and a pump for acceleration, works mechanically. It is equipped with pneumatic centrifugal controller of crankshaft rpm. Engine oil operates in combined mode on the basis of spraying principle and using pressure. In the initial stages, a deep filtering device was included in this mechanism. It looked like a set of thin steel plates. For high cleaning, a center fugue with a reactive drive is used. Fuel pump provides forced power supply to the engine. It is designed according to the B-9 diaphragm type with one outlet and two inlet valves. For work, the model uses A-76 gasoline. Forced crankcase blowing system is of closed type. Two-stage air cleaning is performed using VM-16 filter. The components of the cylinder block with liners with an internal diameter of 100 mm receive an engine with a working volume of 6 liters, and liners with an internal diameter of 108 mm - an engine with a working volume of 7 liters. The piston stroke in both cases is 95 mm. Seven-liter engines are called ZiL-375 and are used on trucks of the Ural Automobile Plant.
