VKR Multi-storey residential building

Description

The building is rectangular, consisting of two block sections. The plan dimensions of each block section, measured along the center axes, are 22.4 x 12.0 m. Most apartments are oriented at an angle, ensuring corner ventilation. The building maximizes the use of the light perimeter to accommodate compactly arranged apartments per floor. Apartments are separated by a corridor from a centrally located stairwell and elevator unit with transverse load-bearing walls forming the core.

 

The typical floor height is 2.9 m.

 

The building is equipped with one passenger elevator with a lifting capacity of 450 kg. Exit from the residential floors to the smoke-free stairwell is via the airside. The building is designed with a basement (2.6 m high), a heated attic (1.6 m high), a stairwell, passenger elevators, a garbage chute, and an internal drainage system.

 

The heated attic is a combined static pressure ventilation chamber into which all the ventilation ducts from the living spaces open, and air is exhausted through a common ventilation shaft on the roof.

 

The basement of the building houses utility rooms such as a pump room, a central heating point, an electrical control room, inventory rooms, and utility lines.
