1. Purpose and scope of concrete mixers

The ECM 100 mixers are versatile equipment designed to work with both powdered materials and liquid materials with an extremely wide range of viscosity, from light-flowing to semi-solid. This is ensured by the sealed structure of the working chamber, high drive power, the presence of a cooling jacket, and a special design of the unloading unit.

ECM 100 mixers can be successfully used in the production of paint materials, pastes, mastic, sealants, adhesives, in the production of plastics, the production of food products, the production of cosmetic and hygienic materials, the production of many chemical products and in other fields.

3. Mixer device and operation principle

The EXM100 mixers are designed as two-rotor blade mixers with a worm unloading unit.

The rotors rotate in opposite directions. On each rotor there are two screw blades, the shape of which is made so that in the process of mixing the mixed material moves from the center of the working chamber to the end walls and is crushed with blades on their surface. Blades of different rotors move along intersecting trajectories, which allows eliminating dead zones near axes of rotors. Tight adjustment of rotors dimensions to working chamber eliminates deposits of mixed material on its surfaces. During material unloading, direction of rotation of rotors changes to opposite direction and rotors move material to the center of working chamber to unloading window.

The unloading unit according to the design is a double-screw extruder with unidirectional rotation of worms. The worms are in close engagement with each other, which ensures their complete mutual cleaning. This design of the discharge unit allows even the most sticky materials to be quickly and cleanly discharged from the working chamber.

Rotation of the worms is carried out by an independent drive, including an Italian reduction motor and a special reduction gear with a thrust unit .

Material is supplied to unloading unit through unloading opening in bottom of working chamber. When mixing, the window closes so that it does not get mixed material.

To close and open the window, the body of the unloading unit is equipped with a rotary shutter. The rotation mechanism also has an independent drive, including a special worm reduction gear and an Italian reduction motor .

Body of all-welded mixers, working chambers are machined on boring machine, surfaces are ground. Working chamber is sealed. Jacket with connectors for cooling water or hot coolant supply is welded to housing. Housing temperature is controlled by thermocouple and thermoregulator. When the temperature rises above the specified one, the main drive stops automatically.

4. Selection of materials for manufacturing of machine assembly parts

The purpose is to select the material for the parts, taking into account the properties, working conditions and design, the nature of the loads and stresses.

This cup is symmetrical with respect to the center, so it is better to make a cup from a stamped blank on a KGShP. Accuracy class 9.

The following steel grades can be distinguished for making the cup: steel 35, steel 35 L, steel 45 X.

Based on the operating conditions of this cup, we note that the cup is without constant dynamic loads, therefore steel 35 is suitable for us, since it is used for parts of low strength experiencing small stresses.

Bushing can be made by stamping. Bushing does not experience large dynamic loads. Consequently, the sleeve will be formed by stamping of steel 35.

The main drive of the mixers includes a serial motor reducer, a safety friction clutch and a system of chevron gears that provide a reduced noise level.

The mixing time is set on the control panel. After the specified time, the main drive stops automatically.

Mixers are produced in two versions of working elements: basic (completely from carbon steel) and anticorrosive (housing, rotors, unloading unit - from stainless steel with surface nitriding). Nitriding dramatically increases the hardness of the working surfaces and the wear resistance of the mixer when working with abrasive materials.
