Introduction

Injection molding is perhaps the most modern and relatively inexpensive (compared to the same pressing) method for making plastic products. Nowadays, the plastic processing industry is an integral part of our life, for example, take the same plastic packaging. The world is slowly moving away from the expensive heavy metallurgy. More and more plastic products appear to replace their "heavy" expensive, inferior in all respects to "brothers."

This course project in the discipline "Forming Tool" is a logical completion of calculation and graphic work on the subject "Fundamentals and Design of Plastic Products."

The purpose of this work is to design a hot channel mold for injection molding of a toothbrush.

The essence of this technology is that the shape consists of two parts: a cold matrix, into which products are formed, and a much more complex hot part. Heated hot mould channels are permanently filled with molten polymer material. The hot channel part of the mold is equipped with pre-chamber injection units with point inlet. In operation, the injection assembly of the injection molding machine is permanently closed to the mold.

3. Justification for selecting mold parts and materials

For the die and punch, corrosion resistant steel St14X17H2 is used, since PETG is chemically active.

Fastening plates, intermediate plates from Steal45. To increase the strength of the surface, cementation is carried out.

Pushers, signs St14X17H2 as they contact material

The directing columns U8A. This is bulk hardened steel. GOST 143590. After heat treatment, it has high hardness, wear resistance, are well polished, treated by an electric erosion method.

Shank, Stal45 nuts. Since this steel has a low cost and quite good strength and mechanical characteristics.

Pusher attachment plate, pusher plate St30. To increase the strength of the surface, cementation is carried out.

Conclusion

During the work, a mold was developed and designed for the production of single-layer toothbrushes. The work consisted of several parts: designing the shape itself and conducting strength calculations.

Due to the fact that the thickness of the article is not uniform along its length, and it is thick-walled, a hot channel system was chosen. A manifold was developed for it and multipoint nozzles (injectors) were selected. For convenience of removal, 2 connector lines were provided, as well as hooks and rods for returning the system to its original position when closed. Also specially for my product, a cage of signs was developed to design holes for the bristles of the toothbrush .

The strength calculation was: in the calculation of support plates for crushing, the calculation of a guide column for bending and bolts for cutting. All calculations meet the specified requirements and do not exceed the standard tolerances for each type of calculation.
