Gearbox assembly

For ease of assembly the housing is made detachable. The parting plane passes through the axes of the shafts, therefore in a two-stage reduction gear the axes of the shafts are located in the same plane. The parting plane is arranged parallel to the base plane for ease of processing.

Special flanges are made to connect the housing and cover along the entire contour of the gearbox connector plane.

Window (hatch) is provided in the housing cover for inspection of wheels and other parts of reduction gear box and for filling of oil. The shape of the window (hatch) is taken to be rectangular. On longitudinal long sides of reduction gear box, body flanges are located inward from body wall, and cover flanges are located outward .

For ease of treatment, the outer ends of the lugs of all bearing sockets located on the same wall of the housing must lie in the same plane.

Bolts with an outer hexagonal head are used to connect the cover to the housing. The support surface of the housing should be made in the form of two long parallel plates made at the places of bolts installation. This arrangement reduces the consumption of metal and reduces the processing time of the support surface of the housing, reduces the loads on the threaded parts. Places of attachment of the housing to the plate or frame are located at a possible distance from each other (but within the size of the housing) and are designed in the form of niches.

To drain oil in the reduction gear box housing there is a drain hole closed by a plug.

To lift and transport the cover of the housing and the assembled reduction gear, lymbolts are used that are screwed into the cover.

1. Assembly of shafts outside the gear box.

2. Install them in the housing.

3. Check smooth running.

4. The paint checks the contact spot.

5. The plane of the connector is covered with sealant. The gearbox housing and cover are covered with paint.

6. Smooth stroke is checked and the housing pins to the cover.

7. Oil is poured.

8. Reduction gear box is crimped, oil changes, and reduction gear box is prepared for operation.
