Description

This is the most popular type of cartridge. In fact, this is a device, which includes a pneumatic installation and a cartridge structure. The pneumatic unit includes a cylindrical part having a piston and a rod. Cartridges that can work with a cylindrical system are divided into specific and universal ones. Among the latter, a 3-cam self-centering cartridge having a crank-lever or wedge system is most often used. There are also 2 and 4 cam pneumatic structures of the cartridge. There are two types of cartridges, based on the type of pressure transducers. In one, they are direct, in the other, sequential. Compressed air is supplied to pneumatic-hydraulic systems. It leaves the network and moves through the pneumatics at a rather high oil pressure (6-9 MPa). Pressure value is due to operation of pneumatic-hydraulic transducers of any kind. Pressure changes from air to oil. These drives are easy to handle, they allow easy movement of the clamps, have modest dimensions and are inexpensive. Pneumatic-hydraulic drive systems are used in production in serial processes.
