Of the three-cap cartridges with a manual drive, spiral-rack cartridges with a conical gearing were most widely used. According to GOST 267580, cartridges can have a steel or cast-iron body in which a disk (snail) is installed, on the end of which spiral grooves are cut, and conical teeth are cut on the other end. The screws installed in the body have conical teeth engaging with the teeth of the snail. Cams are engaged with the spiral grooves of the snail, which, when rotated, cause the cams to move radially, while clamping or squeezing the part. Cartridges of this design provide a large clamping force 12000... 16300 kgf, and with high-quality manufacturing and high centering accuracy (biene up to 0.02 mm) in normal operation, centering accuracy remains for a long time.

Device for milling of key slot consists of base, from below of which two prismatic keys are installed and fixed with screws for installation of device on central slot of machine table. After installation, the accessory is attached to the machine table by 2-machine bolts. Two prisms are installed on top of the bases, aligned along the axis, fixed by two cylindrical pins and fixed by screws, on which the part is installed by two journals Ø70mm. There are also installations for placing the cutter along the axis of the part using a probe. The part is secured by manually moving the grip with a wrench.

In circular grinding machines in order to achieve increased accuracy, the spindle slip. the head is made stationary. The rear centers are installed in the pinoles of the tailstock, stationary during processing and work as sliding bearings with high pressure, subjected to heavy heating and wear.
