Introduction

By drive is meant a combination of a source of motion and mechanisms transmitting motion to the final links of the machine. The following types of drives are used as actuators of the main movement in the MRS.

Gear gearbox with single or multi-speed AC motor.

Gear gearbox with DC motor.

Replaceable gears with single or multi-speed AC motor.

Stepped pulley drive with single or multi-speed electric motor.

Multi-speed AC motor.

Adjustable electric motors and DC electric drives.

Stepless transmission (variator) with single or multi-speed AC motor. Sometimes two variators are used simultaneously.

Gear gear box combined with variator and non-adjustable AC motor.

Hydraulic drive.

Drives 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 are used for stepless (smooth) control of the speed of the end links of the machine, the rest for stepped (discrete) control.
