Description
A friction shaft (clutch) is a device for permanent or temporary connection of shafts. The friction clutch transmits torque by friction. The design of friction couplings can be made with one or more discs, with cylindrical or conical friction surfaces, with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electromagnetic control. Friction clutches are used in automatic systems, because they allow remote control.
