6 preliminary selection of bearings
6.1 Selection of bearing type.
Ball radial-thrust bearings are used to support shafts of cylindrical helical wheels of reduction gears. Conical wheels shall be precisely and rigidly fixed in axial direction. Ball radial bearings are characterized by small axial stiffness. Therefore, conical roller bearings are used in power transmissions for supports of conical wheel shafts. Initially, light series bearings are assigned.
