The basis and foundation design consists in the selection of the base, type of structure and basic dimensions of the foundation and in their joint calculation as one of the parts of the structure. The base, foundation and ground structure are inextricably linked, affect each other and should be considered as a single system. The deformation and stability of soils depends on the peculiarity of the application of load, the size and design of the foundation and the entire structure. In turn, the main dimensions of the foundation and the structural scheme of the structure are determined by the geological structure of the compressing soils, as well as the perceived pressure. The task is complicated by the peculiarities of the construction site and the working conditions, and several solutions can be made for the same site. The purpose of this course project is to learn how to make the optimal selection of the foundation design using variant design. Shallow foundations (separate foundations) and pile bushes are arranged under the columns of frame buildings. Individual foundations do not increase the rigidity of the structure, so they are usually used in cases where the unevenness of the sediment does not exceed the permissible values. Pile bushes are arranged under columns of structures and supports transmitting significant vertical loads.
