Description
The most effective measure to accelerate the setting and hardening of concrete mixtures at present is heat and moisture treatment. It is known that with an increase in temperature, the rate of many chemical reactions increases. This is also true for hydrolysis and hydration processes of those chemical compounds of which the binders consist. Due to this, at elevated temperatures, the formation of calcium oxide hydrate, hydrosilicates, hydroaluminates and calcium hydroferrites in the colloidal state occurs much faster and more intensively than at ordinary temperatures. At the same time, temperature rise contributes to accelerated crystallization of colloids
