Brief description

Bridge cranes are used in the workshops of repair enterprises and production workshops of construction industry enterprises.

The designs of special bridge cranes are very diverse. These cranes may be translational on crane rails or rotating about a vertical axis. Rotating cranes include chord, radial and rotary cranes.

Bridge cranes with translational movement have single-beam and double-block bridges with a normal span length or increased to 4060 m.

The carrying capacity of these machines is 400,500 tons or more.

Translational bridge cranes are often equipped with hooks, staples or special load gripping devices (magnets, grapher, mechanical ticks). Bridge cranes are equipped with bogies designed for lifting and moving the load along the span. Bogies can move along rails fixed on upper or lower belts of bridges. Bogies moving along the lower belts of the bridges can move along the transition bridges from one span of the workshop to a nearby one. Transition bridges with rails for bogies are located under crane beams and have trolleys to power electric motors.

Bogies moving along upper and lower belts of bridge beams can be equipped with rotary booms, support-turning devices and turning parts rotating around vertical axes. Booms equipped with load gripping devices are arranged on rotary axles.

The bridge crane mechanisms provide three movements: lifting the cargo, moving the trolley and moving the bridge. The lifting mechanism is a winch connected to a double polyspast; with a lifting capacity of more than 10 tons, cranes are equipped with two independent lifting mechanisms - the main and auxiliary, having a lifting capacity of approximately 0.25 main, and used to lift small loads at high speed. The hoisting mechanism of the grab crane is made in the form of two identical lifting independent mechanisms, the electric motors of which are controlled by two controllers having a common control handle. Proposed mechanism has two idle and two drive wheels rotated by electric motor via reduction gear.

Machines for vertical and horizontal movement of goods are divided into two groups: bridge cranes and rotary cranes. The simplest type of rotary crane is a crane with a rotating column, but in most cases such cranes are installed against the wall and they have a rotation angle of not more than 1800.

A more modern design of a rotary crane for servicing open as well as closed areas is a wall-mounted rotary crane with a crane trolley.

Goat cranes are used for servicing open warehouses and loading sites, installation of prefabricated construction facilities and equipment, an industrial enterprise, maintenance of hydraulic structures, reloading of large-capacity containers and long-length cargo. Goat cranes are made mainly with hook or with special grips.

Depending on the type of bridge, the cranes are divided into one- and two-beam. Freight trolleys are self-propelled or rope-driven. Cargo trolleys of double-beam cranes can have a rotary boom.

Crane supports are installed on running trolleys moving along rails. Supports of goat cranes are made two-post with equal rigidity, or one rigid, the other flexible (hinged).

Separate drives are provided for movement mechanisms of goat cranes. At least half of all running wheels are driven.
