Description

The rear axle is driving and consists of a single central reduction gear and two wheel gears. The rear axle transmits torque from the engine crankshaft through the clutch, gearbox and cardan shaft to the driving wheels of the car and with the help of a differential allows the driving wheels to rotate at different angular speeds.

For a number of years, rear axles with two-stage main gears were installed on two-axle ZIL trucks. The plant has extensive experience in the manufacture of these cottages and has the necessary equipment and technologists with equipment. Therefore, it was decided to install a rear axle with a two-stage main front on the ZIL-130 car, taking as a basis the design of the main transmission of the ZIL-164 car in order to make the most of its parts.
Rear axle device has permanent steel crankcase with vertical flange for attachment of main gear crankcase, detachable two-stage main gear with pair of conical and pair of cylindrical gears and unloaded axles.
