Description
Information about the city of Astana
The territory of the city is 797.33 km2 (after joining the city on February 7, 2017, without settlements of the Akmola region - 87.19 km2). The city is located on a steppe plain. The relief of the occupied territory is low terraces. Chestnut soils predominate.
The geology of the city consists of undifferentiated Paleozoic deposits in the northern part and Middle Quaternary deposits in the southern and western parts. Most of the city is in sedimentary rocks, mainly in sandy loam clays.
