2.9.Installation for compressed air

Installations for the production and distribution of compressed air consist of the following elements :

- compressors with electric drive and automatic start and stop control system;

- air suction filters for cleaning air sucked by the first stage of the compressor from the atmosphere;

- coil coolers with water and oil separators and blowdown valves after each compressor stage;

- air collectors (receivers) - vessels for accumulation of compressed air and reduction valves installed at air outlet from air collectors to distribution network;

- air pipelines, valves, instruments and auxiliary devices required for normal operation of the air distribution network.

On HUNDRED compressors on the nominal pressure of 4.5 MPas (VSh3/40M type) are used. Compressors with nominal pressure of 4.5 MPas are used at the operating pressure of air switches of 2 MPas.
