1. Brief description of the building and process equipment, thermal balance

In this course project, ventilation of the painting shop in the city of Lida was designed. The industrial building is one-story, two-span, without a basement and attic. External walls of the building are made of brick. The shape of the building in the plan is rectangular. The span in axes A-B is 18 m.

The length of the building along the coordination axes is: in axes 1-5 - 24 m. The pitch of the extreme and middle columns is 6 m.

The height of the building is -12.6 m. The elevation of the top of the columns is 8.0 m. The elevation of the ground level: -0.000 m.

For the entry of transport, an open gate in the span is arranged, measuring 5.0x3.6 m. The walls of the gate are made of brick, lintels are laid.

Thermal workshop equipment is divided into three groups: main, auxiliary and auxiliary.

The main equipment is used to perform heat treatment operations and includes furnaces, heating plants, cooling devices (quench tanks, quench machines, cold treatment equipment.

Additional equipment includes equipment for straightening and cleaning parts (correct presses, etching baths, sand blasting and shot blasting machines, washing machines.

The service equipment includes installations for preparation of a karbyurizator and the controlled atmospheres, devices for cooling of hardening liquids, the sanitary technical equipment, bridge and rotary cranes, monorails with electrotelphers, live rolls, conveyors, conveyors.

. Selection of air intake and removal points, location of plenum and exhaust ventilation units

Mechanical plenum ventilation during the warm season is used for the most unverified, stagnant areas or for areas of the workshop where it is not possible to provide natural air exchange. Air shower systems can be used.

All processes and equipment that emit harmful substances must be equipped with local suction. Local suction from furnaces cannot be combined with suction from oil quench or release baths. The presence of oil vapors in the ducts can lead to fire when sparks come from the furnaces.

Local suction from electric furnaces and electrode-bearing baths should be done separately from local suction of gas and fuel oil furnaces. In the first case, mechanical excitation should be mandatory, in the other case, natural drawing is allowed .

Local suction from salt cyanide baths should be designed as independent systems with a mechanical motive. In front of the fan it is necessary to install strainers wetted with a weak solution of copper block to neutralize and capture cyanide salts.

Air ducts of exhaust systems shall be designed in round section. If the temperature of the transported air is more than 100... 120 ˚C accept welded air ducts made of steel with a thickness of at least 2 mm.

Natural exhaust ventilation systems shall be equipped with difflectors.

Exhaust pipes from electric furnaces, stowing and electric-polar baths shall be equipped with metal umbrellas to prevent atmospheric precipitation.

One exhaust unit shall combine not more than 10 local suction pumps. The range of mechanical local exhaust ventilation units shall not exceed 30...
