1. Introduction

Steering is a set of devices that provide for the rotation of controlled wheels of a car when the driver acts on the steering wheel. Steering consists of steering gear and steering gear. An amplifier may be incorporated into the steering mechanism or drive to facilitate rotation of the wheels. The steering mechanism is designed to transfer force from the driver to the steering gear and to increase the torque applied to the steering wheel. A steering mechanism is a mechanism that allows the wheels to turn with the necessary gear ratio. It consists of a steering wheel, a wheel and a reduction gear. The steering drive serves to transfer the force from the steering mechanism to the controlled wheels of the car and to provide the necessary ratio between their turning angles. Steering drive is a system of rods and levers that together with the steering mechanism turn the car.

In course work, it is necessary to design the steering mechanism of the medium-duty truck MAZ4371.

Design Design Selection and Justification

Based on the technical requirements for the designed car, the layout requirements and the overview of the existing structures made above, I came to the conclusion of installing a steering mechanism with a screw and a ball nut-rack with an integral hydraulic amplifier.

The integral steering mechanism has a number of advantages: a simplified layout, the absence of branch pipes/hoses to the power cylinder, the absence of a separate power cylinder.

Conclusion

When developing steering for a medium-duty truck MAZ4371, a steering mechanism with a sector and a screw-ball-nut-rack with an integral hydraulic amplifier was designed. The rotation angles of the controlled wheels Bmax = 32.34 ° are determined; Hmax = 24.06 °. Gear ratio of steering gear Urm = 20.9 and steering gear Urp = 1.08. Diameter of power cylinder of hydraulic amplifier Dz = 100mm. Slide valve diameter dz = 70 mm.
