Description
Heap leaching, as a highly profitable and environmentally friendly gold mining process, has firmly entered the practice of gold mining in the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, China, Mexico, Chile, Portugal and many other countries. The introduction of this technology is very fast and very effective. The geography of the use of heap leaching of noble metals from various minerals (from relatively rich ores with a gold content of more than 3 g/t to lying tailings of enrichment and waste from chemical industries) extends from Canada with relatively harsh winters to Central America with a very hot climate and high precipitation. The return on investment in the creation of industrial gold mining facilities by heap leaching is extremely short, for many mining companies using heap leaching, the payback period does not exceed one year. Currently, for large-tonnage poor deposits, the content of gold recovered by heap leaching in ores can be 0.65-0.82 g/t, and with large production volumes (in several million tons) - 0.35-0.65 g/t.
