Description

Spherical tanks, or as they are also called ball tanks, are the most convenient form for storing liquefied gas at high pressures (up to 2.0 MPa) and large volumes, since they can store from 600 m3 to 2000 m3 of gas. Another advantage of spherical tanks is economic feasibility: savings on metal in the manufacture of spherical tanks is 20%.

The design feature of spherical tanks affects certain difficulties in the design and installation of such tanks. For example, due to the large volume, the installation of metal structures in the factory is impossible. Also, in the manufacture of metal structures, minimum tolerances should be observed, which can affect deviations in a perfectly spherical shape and, as a result, difficulties in installation.
