Description

The thermal calculation of the engine is used to determine the parameters of the working medium in the engine cylinder, as well as the estimated parameters of the working process, to evaluate power and economic indicators that allow assessing the power and fuel consumption.

The calculation method is based on the method of V.I. Grinevetsky, later improved by N.R. Brilling, B.S. Stechkin and others.

The task of dynamic calculation is to determine the forces acting in the mechanisms for converting the energy of the working medium into the mechanical work of the engine.

In the present work, thermal and dynamic calculations are performed for the rated power mode.

1. Initial data for calculation of piston internal combustion engine.

- engine grade SMD-62

- effective engine power Ne = 128.7kW

- crankshaft speed n = 2100 rpm

- number of strokes? = 4

- number of location cylinders i = V6

- excess air coefficient α = 1.8

- extent of compression ε=15

- ratio of piston stroke to cylinder diameter S/D = 0.82

Introduction

The thermal calculation of the engine is used to determine the parameters of the working medium in the engine cylinder, as well as the estimated parameters of the working process, to evaluate power and economic indicators that allow assessing the power and fuel consumption.

Conclusion

As a result of the course work, the thermal and dynamic calculation of the SMD62 engine was carried out.

After performing thermal calculation, they determined the parameters of the working medium in the engine cylinder, made process estimates that made it possible to determine the dimensions of the engine and evaluate its power and economic indicators.

During dynamic calculation, the forces acting on the KSM, the engine torque, were determined. The engine speed characteristic was calculated.

When plotting torques, slight differences compared to the plot of the total torque of the prototype.
