Description
2. Construction and analysis of an indicator diagram A theoretical indicator diagram is constructed in the coordinates P-V. For this purpose, a segment reflecting the volume of the combustion chamber Vc in the diagram length scale is deposited on the abscissa axis. We take this segment as a unit of volume. Next, segments reflecting the corresponding volumes in the accepted scale are deposited on the abscissa axis: On the ordinate axis, choosing the pressure scale Points with and z 'are connected by a straight line parallel to the ordinate axis (the construction is carried out with thin lines). Points "a" and "c" are connected by the compression polytrope, and points "z" and "in" by the expansion polytrope. The number of design points for polytropes is recommended to be at least 5, the maximum number is not limited. However, when selecting points, it is necessary to reduce the intervals between points as you approach the TDC. All calculations for compression and expansion polytropes are conveniently tabulated.
