Introduction

Processing of metals with cutting tools on machine tools in modern machine-building production occupies one of the main places in the technological process of making products. The operation of such tools is based on the use of a cutting wedge. A wedge consisting of two surfaces converging into a sharp edge can move relative to the workpiece metal to be treated so that one surface of the wedge will press the workpiece and the edge will divide the workpiece into two unequal parts, the smaller of which will deform, turning into chips. At the same time, deformation of the treated material is accompanied by significant heat release and heating of the cutting elements of the tool to very high temperatures (up to 600-1000 ° C and above). Therefore, the cutting tools must be made of hard, strong and wear resistant materials. Such a process is called cutting. The mutual movement of the cutting wedge and the workpiece is carried out in a metal cutting machine, where the tool or workpiece can be installed in additional devices - devices. Obtaining new surfaces by deforming surface layers of material to form chips is called cutting treatment.

Depending on technological purpose the machine metal-cutting tool is divided into the following subgroups: cutters, mills, broaches, zuborezny, thread-cutting, for processing of openings, the abrasive and diamond tool. Cutters used on turning, turning-turret, carousel, boring, rigorous, chisel and other machines (with the exception of threaded and tooth-cutting cutters) serve for turning, boring holes, processing flat and shaped surfaces, cutting grooves. Mills - a multi-blade rotating metal cutting tool is used on milling machines for processing flat and shaped surfaces, as well as for cutting blanks. Pulling is a multi-blade tool for processing smooth and shaped internal and external surfaces. The tooth-cutting tool is intended for cutting and processing the teeth of gear wheels, toothed racks, worms. Threaded tool is used for production and processing of external and internal threads. The nomenclature of the threaded tool is also made up of threaded cutters and cutters, throwers, rams, etc.

Conclusion

During the course project in the discipline "Production and design of tools," a round shaped cutter, a round draw and a shingle were designed. At the same time, the entire design path was passed from receiving an individual task to issuing as the results of the full calculation a round shaped cutter, a round draw and a shingle, as well as complete working documentation of the project. For the correct and fast performance of course work, the knowledge and skills acquired in previous courses of study at the university were required, and at the same time, even deeper and more meaningful skills were developed in instrumental production as an integral part of all mechanical engineering.

Directions of further development of instrumental production. The main directions of the development of tool production lie in the areas of activity related to the process of designing the latest tool structures by the tool selection system for a given technological process, with a high-quality choice of the tool manufacturing process, optimal operating conditions. The following main directions can be distinguished:

1. Increase the accuracy requirements of massing and auxiliary tools.

2. Create new cutting and auxiliary tool designs for high-speed machining. 43

3. Development of prefabricated tool structures with replaceable polyhedral plates made of hard alloys, including tools such as drills, countersink, sweep.

4. The creation of new designs of grinding tools, such as grinding wheels with an oriented arrangement of cutting grains, highly alloyed wheels, wheels with cutting grains made of new ultra-hard materials and synthetic diamonds.

5. Equipping technologies based on non-traditional processing methods with new tools and devices.
