Introduction
Crank press is a machine with a crank mechanism designed to press various parts.
Working part (tool) of press is die, fixed part of which is fixed to table, movable part - to press slider. Slider is moved by crank mechanism. In one turn of the crank, the connecting rod makes a full stroke, during which stamping occurs when the slider moves forward.
The press force is created due to the torque transmitted to the crank shaft by an electric drive. The drive of a single-crank press of simple action consists of an electric motor, a flywheel, an actuation coupling, a brake and a reduction gear, from which rotation is transmitted to the crank shaft. The electric motor rotates the flywheel, due to the inertia force of which a torque occurs on the crank shaft. The press can operate in single stroke mode, i.e. with the clutch off after each full stroke, or in automatic mode when the clutch is on permanently.
The most important characteristics of the press, determining its technological capabilities:

- slide stroke
- nominal force
Crank presses of various designs are used for volumetric and sheet stamping, cutting, bending, punching, trimming, drawing, molding.
According to the design of the press, they have three main versions:
- tilted
- non-tiltable
- non-inclined with a mobile table and a horn for processing parts having a large closed height of dies, and also equipped with a special table (horn) for processing parts with a closed loop.
Tilted presses allow the bed to be tilted to remove stamped articles or to remove waste under their own weight into the clearance between the press posts.
Presses with a mobile table and a horn allow you to press parts that have an increased height size, as well as use dies of various heights.
When replacing the table with a horn, the press can be used to process parts with a closed loop.
The design of tiltable and non-tiltable presses with a fixed table provides for the possibility of installing mechanisms for automatic supply of metal and air cushions, as well as their integration into automated flow lines.
Technical characteristics of the machine (GOST 776688)
Single-crank open non-inclined simple action press with force of 250 kN, R = 200 mm, L = 300 mm, α = 15 °.
Press KD2124 can be selected by force and design.
Single-brush press of simple action open non-inclined double-post KD2124 is intended for manufacturing of parts by operations of cold sheet stamping: flexible, cutting, punching, shallow drawing, etc., including in the composition of automated complexes.
Mechanical presses KD2124 are used in enterprises of various industries, in workshops and in areas of cold sheet stamping. They are widely used in any type of production: small-scale, serial, mass.
Presses of KD2124 are intended for work both on single, and on the continuous courses at equipment by their automatic giving (roller, roll, shiberny, etc.).
Principle of operation and peculiarities of machine design
It is recommended to calculate the forces required for cold stamping operations, refer to the "force-to-stroke" nomogram given in the press certificate and the manuals for cold sheet stamping.
The value of permissible forces on the slider, depending on the angle of rotation of the crank, should be selected from the graph of permissible forces on the slider, placed in the press certificate.
Dimensions of the stamped article on the press are determined by the dimensions of the stamped space, the amount of stroke of the slider and the permissible forces on the slider.
Presses equipped with automatic feeds can be used in automatic and flow lines.
KD2124 press consists of the following main units:
Bed
Drive
Coupling-brake
Eccentric shaft
Slider
Slider Balancer
Air distributor
Cast-iron press bed of box-like shape perceives all forces arising during stamping.
Slider made of high-strength cast iron, box-shaped, with prismatic double-sided guides. Left guide adjustable. Slider is equipped with overload protector and wedge device to remove press from thrust. Slider stroke is adjustable. Cam engagement is introduced into adjustment mechanism to reduce time for transfer. To eliminate the influence of the weight of the slide and the upper half of the die on the operation of the presses, as well as to prevent arbitrary lowering of the slide in emergency situations, pneumatic counterbalancers are provided.
The interstamp space is adjustable.
The presses are equipped with a pneumatic blower, it is possible to install an airbag. Removal of products from the die is carried out on the dip and in the lumen between the press posts.
The slider drive is from the electric motor through a V-belt transmission, a flywheel with a clutch brake mounted in it, and an eccentric shaft.
Coupling-brake - rigid-locked, multi-disc, friction, with pneumatic actuation; mounted in the flywheel.
Electric circuit of control unit is non-contact and duplicated. Monitoring of braking distance and lubrication system control are provided.
Electrical interlock and enclosures ensure reliable operation and safe maintenance of the presses.
