2. Description of heat exchanger
Horizontal boiler-accumulator - a heat exchanger, in which the heating medium is water steam, and the heated one is water. Steam-water heaters of horizontal types are used for hot water supply. The housing is a horizontal, steel cylindrical container, inside which a coil is located. Heating steam flows through branch pipe into chamber located on the side of fixed end of tubes. Chamber is divided into 2 parts by partitions. Accordingly, a two-way heat exchanger is obtained. The steam passes through the tubes, changes the direction of movement to the opposite, condenses on the inner surface of the steel tubes, gives off latent heat and returns to the inlet chamber, but on the back of the partition and flows down the outlet branch pipe. The heated water is supplied through the branch pipe to the space of the tank accumulator, heated to the required temperature and supplied through the lower branch pipe to the consumer.
7. Instrumentation
To control operation and ensure safe operating conditions, the devices, depending on the purpose, should be equipped with pressure measuring devices, temperature measuring devices, safety devices, liquid level indicators.
When testing heat exchangers under operating conditions, the following are usually measured:
1. water temperature at the inlet of the apparatus;
2. water temperature at the outlet of the apparatus;
3. water pressure at the inlet of the apparatus;
4. water pressure at the outlet of the apparatus;
5. water flow through the apparatus.
In order to measure these values, such as shall be equipped with appropriate measuring instruments.
Installation location, accuracy class, scale and frequency of instrument verification are determined according to "Rules for arrangement and safe operation of pressure vessels" PB 0357603.
If it is necessary to monitor the level of liquid in the devices that have the interface, level indicators shall be used.
