3. Calculation of heat exchangers using the dimensionless method

The dimensionless characteristics method is based on the use of dimensionless characteristics - the efficiency of the heat exchanger (a) and a dimensionless number of heat transfer units (NTUs). Compared to the traditional method of calculating heat exchangers using the value of the average arithmetic temperature head, the method of dimensionless characteristics has advantages in performing span calculation since it allows you to determine the final temperatures of the heat carriers immediately by analytical dependencies, without resorting to a large number of approximations.
