Description
To achieve the most complete separation of components, a more complex type of distillation is used - rectification. Rectification consists in the countercurrent interaction of vapors formed during distillation with the liquid obtained during vapor condensation. The rectification process is carried out in installations where heating, evaporation of the mixture occurs, and then multiple heat and mass transfer between the liquid and vapor phases, while the light-boiling component passes from the liquid phase to the steam phase, and the high-boiling component - from the vapor phase to the liquid phase.
