Additional data to the escalator: - a step of a chain of escalator P =101.8 of mm; - a tilt angle to the horizon α=30 °; - performance of W=l is the 250th person/hour; - speed of the movement is V=0.8 m/s; - length of the escalator is L=8 m; - number of teeths of the leading asterisk Z=10; - coefficient of resistance to movement of C=1.2; - efficiency daily Ks =0.6; - efficiency annual Kg =0.3; - service life of t=4 of year.

-number of teeth of leading star Z = 10;

- movement resistance coefficient C = 1.2;

- gear speed n1 = 965 rpm;

- wheel speed n2 = 172 .32 rpm;

- torque on the gear shaft T1 = 42.04 n * m.

2.1.1.Selection of materials and method of hardening.

For the wheel, heat treatment - improvement, hardness HB269... 302 (accept HB270). For pinion heat treatment - improvement and surface quenching of TVH, core hardness HB270, surface hardness HRC48... 53 (accept HRC50) in order to use the head effect and obtain higher load capacity

2.2. Spur Low-Speed Transmission

2.2.1.The initial data:

- power on the gear shaft P1 = 4.12 kW;

- gear speed n1 = 172.32 rpm;

- wheel speed n 2 = 38 .29 rpm;

- torque on gear shaft T1 = 228.34 n * m

For the wheel heat treatment - improvement, hardness HB = 235... 272

(accept HB270).

For the gear, heat treatment - improvement, hardness HB269... 302,

(accept HB290).
