ELOU scheme

Description

Figure 2 presents the technological scheme of the ELOU block of the ELOU-AVT installation. Crude oil or a mixture of crude oil with gas condensate, oil trap product, vacuum gas oil, and flare gas condensate from the storage tanks of commercial production is fed to the raw material intake pump N1.

Oil is pumped through heat exchangers in two streams:

  • The I stream of oil is pumped through the tube space of heat exchangers T1 (oil - light diesel fuel), T2, T3 (oil - vacuum diesel) and through the inter-tube space of heat exchanger T4 (oil - bitumen). The heating temperature of the oil in the heat exchangers for the first stream is 105-125°C.
  • The II stream of oil passes through the tube space of heat exchangers T5 (oil - upper circulation irrigation K2) and T6, T7 (oil - heavy vacuum gas oil). The heating temperature of the oil in the heat exchangers for the second stream is 105–125°C.

The streams combine and enter the I stage in the electro-dehydrators EG1, EG3. The desalted and dehydrated oil from the electro-dehydrators EG1, EG3 is fed to the II stage of ELOU in electro-dehydrators EG2, EG4.

A demulsifier is supplied to the intake of the raw material pump N1 by the dosing pump N2. During the sequential operation of the electro-dehydrators, water is supplied to the second stage of desalting in EG2 by pump N4.

After EG2, water is fed to the intake of pump N3 and directed to the first stage of desalting in EG1. For desalting crude oil in the electro-dehydrators, water is supplied from tank E2 by pump N4. The missing amount of water is compensated by the supply of backflow water.

From the electro-dehydrator EG1, EG3, the oil emulsion is sent to tank E1, where after settling, the salty water is fed to heat exchangers T8, T9 and to the storage tank farm, while the oil returns to the supply of pump N1.
