Description
The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that electric resistance furnaces have become widespread in various industries, but there is also a downside discovered during operation. In a melting furnace, in order to remove and displace graphite rods, an electrode movement mechanism is needed and should be upgraded. Therefore, modernization, i.e. replacement of the existing drive with an electro-hydraulic drive, will significantly reduce the delay time of the hydraulic cylinder, which depends on the mass of the moving parts, will be only 5% of the total signal delay time in the entire hydraulic system, due to which the desired economic effect will be achieved, that is, a reduction in electricity costs for steel smelting.
The introduction of an electro-hydraulic drive (power regulator) will allow:
- increase steel production;
- Reduce energy costs for steel production
- Reduce the cost of steel and, accordingly, increase its competitiveness.
The purpose of the final qualification work is modernization for electric steel smelting with the lowest energy consumption for the enterprise.
