The order of the build is as follows:

11.1 Design the drive shaft assembly, draw rolling bearings in section. Between ends of bearings and inner wall of housing there drawn are holding rings. Their ends must protrude inside the housing by 1-2 mm from the inner wall. Then these rings will simultaneously act as oil discharge rings. To reduce the number of stages of the shaft, the rings are set to the same diameter as the bearings. They are fixed in axial direction by shaft shoulders and ends of internal rings of bearings.

I draw the bearing covers. I make the transition from the diameter to the output end of the shaft at a distance of 25... 30 mm from the bearing cover.

Length of the entrance end of a shaft is defined by half-coupling nave length. Gear is drawn to structural dimensions defined earlier. Gear is made integral with shaft.

11.2 I design the intermediate shaft in the same way, since this shaft ends with spikes, I depict the covers to it as blind. Gear wheels are fixed in axial direction by collar on one side and by spacer sleeves on the other.

11.3 The driven shaft is designed in the same way, taking into account the following features: to fix the gear wheel in the axial direction, we provide a shoulder on one side and install a spacer bushing on the other. The shaft transition point from the shaft diameter to is shifted by 2.. 3 mm inside the spacer sleeve so as to ensure that the holding ring is pressed against the end of the sleeve, and not the shoulder. Draw rolling bearings according to structural dimensions.

We set aside and draw an asterisk of chain transmission. The transition from to is shifted by 2... 3 mm inside the bearing so as to ensure that the ring is pressed against the inner ring of the bearing. This ring prevents the hub and bearing separator from touching.

11.4 To connect gears to the shaft, prismatic keys with rounded ends according to GOST 2336078 are used to draw keys taking their length 3... 10 mm less than the length of the hub.

11.5 I place overall and connection dimensions on the sketched design.

16. Gearbox assembly

Prior to gearbox assembly, inner space of housing is thoroughly cleaned and covered with oil-resistant paint.

Assembly is performed in accordance with assembly drawing by reduction gear, starting from shaft assemblies:

The drive shaft is fitted with oil retaining rings and ball bearings preheated in oil to 80 ° 100 ° С.

In the intermediate shaft I lay two keys 10 × 8 × 40 and one 10 × 8 × 56. Press gear until it rests against the collar of the shaft, then I put on a spacer bushing between the gear and the wheel. I dress the belt wheels, spacer sleeves between the gear wheels with bearings, holding rings and bearings preheated in oil.

Felt seal impregnated with hot oil is put into through covers of housing. Covers of housing, together with shafts, are laid in base of reducer housing, before that plastic grease is laid in bearing chambers. I put on the cover of the housing, covering previously the surfaces of the joint of the cover and the housing with alcohol varnish. I check that there is no jamming of bearings by turning the shafts and attach the covers with screws.

Then at the end of the driven shaft I put the key into the key groove and install the sprocket.

Then I screw in the plug of oil outlet with gasket and iron oil indicator.

I pour oil into the housing and close the inspection hole with a cover with a gasket made of technical cardboard; attach the cover with bolts.

Assembled reduction gear is subjected to rolling and testing.
