Engineering and geological conditions of the construction area
The construction district is located in Russia in the regional center of the Voronezh region of Voronezh.
Geographical coordinates of the city 51o40/s. 39o15/e.
The designed object is a two-story building, complex in plan, measuring 42 X 36m.
Geomorphology.
Geomorphologically, the construction area is located in the central part of the East European Plain in the Middle Russian Upland and the Oksko Don Lowland.
The relief is predominantly ravine with flat or gentle watersheds and absolute elevations from 80 to 210240m.
The most ancient formations in geological terms are Devonian clays, sandstones, limestones up to 40 m thick. They go to the day surface on the right bank of the rivers: Don, Voronezh, Veduga.
Cretaceous rocks (K) fall on Devonian deposits with stratigraphic disagreement: sands, chalk, marl up to 3040 m thick.
Above in the section are dusty sands of the Krivobor lowland (N2Pz) with a thickness of 1012 m. The youngest are quaternary deposits, represented by deluvial, sandy, glacial and eluvial sandy-clay rocks up to 40 m thick and more.
Vegetation and soil.
The territory of the district lies in the subzone of a typical forest-steppe forest-steppe province. Here, the alternation of oak forests and meadow steppes with herbaceous vegetation is characteristic. Deciduous forests of oak, birch, maple, ash predominate, willows and olshaniki are developed along the river banks. Coniferous forests and pine trees also grow.
Peripheric and rainforest forest plantations of birch, pine, poplar, aspen and shrubs are ubiquitous.
The main soils of the region are chernozems with a thickness of from 0.4 to 0.81.2m. There are sandy soils, sod, meadow and swamp varieties of soils.
Hydrography.
The Voronezh River flows through the construction area, which flows into the Don River. The profile of the river is asymmetric. The right bank is steep, the left is gentle. The width of the river is up to 5-10-30 m., The depth is 2-4 m. The river is not navigable. Due to the distance from the construction site, there will be no influence on the construction.
Man-made load.
In the area of development there are production and economic enterprises, there are underground drainage and thermal communications. Residential development is represented mainly by multi-storey buildings (up to 14 floors) of new development. No crack strains were found in the foundation base.
Geological structure.
The geological section of the area is as follows.
Clays, sandstones, limestone shells, pleurisy with a total thickness of up to 4050 m. They have an Upper Devonian age. Come to the surface on the right bank of the river. Don.
Jurassic deposits: sands, clays. Thickness - 30-35 m. Come to the surface on the right bank of the river. Don.
Deposits of Cretaceous age: sands, marls, chalk. Thickness up to 100110m. They come to the surface on the right bank of the rivers: Don, Veduga.
Neogene sands lie in sections and have a thickness of up to 912 m. Developed along the right bank of the Don River.
Quaternary formations (Q) of river, glacial, eluvial, deluvial origin lie everywhere. Thickness up to 20 - 4080m. These are sands, sandy loams, loams, clays.
Construction Site Geotechnical Conditions
1. Helmorphological position.
The construction site is located in the interfluve of the river. Don-Voronezh. The soil of the site is represented by quaternary deposits. Absolute marks - 150.0150.4.
2. Geological structure.
The site section is as follows:
Q4 - soil-plant layer. Layer thickness is 0.6m.
dQ3 - loam. The thickness of the layer is 4.24.4m.
aQ2 - medium-sized sand. Layer thickness is 7.0m.
3. Hydrogeological conditions.
Groundwater at the construction site is not found to a depth of 10.7 m.
4. Physical and mechanical properties of soils.
For nomenclature name of soils and determination of standard values of mechanical characteristics we calculate standard values of classification indices and characteristics that affect selection of standard values of mechanical characteristics as per SNiP 2.02.0183.
Conclusion
The construction site of the building is located in the interfluve of the river. Don-Voronezh with absolute elevations of 150.0150.4. Relief with a slope.
According to drilling data, the geological structure of the site is heterogeneous (Figure 2).
When drilling wells to a depth of 10.7 m. no groundwater was found.
According to lithology and values of indices of strength and deformation properties, 3 engineering and geologic elements with indices of physical and mechanical properties were identified. As a basis, it is recommended to adopt 2 EGE, the property indicators of which are presented in Table 1.1.
5. Normative values:
soil freezing depth is 1.3m.

6. Calculated value:
