Description

Running-in and testing of engines on ATP are carried out on AC wrap-and-brake stands. The purpose of the repair and testing of the repaired unit is to prepare it for the perception of operational loads, to identify defects related to the quality of repair of parts and assembly of units, as well as to verify compliance of the characteristics of units with the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation.

Work and safety measures

Before starting the run-in all engine mechanisms must be lubricated and the engine tested for ease of rotation manually. The engine crankshaft shall be well aligned with the drive shaft of the shell bench. In the standard mode, the duration of cold rolling, when using additives in oil and fuel - up to 35 minutes. At two modes according to the rotation speed with its gradual increase: 600700 min-1, 8001000 min-1.

During cold rolling, heating of friction surfaces is checked for touch. Using a stethoscope, knocks and noises are listened to inside the engine. The inspection verifies that there is no leakage of oil, water and fuel. The engine during the run-in must operate uninterrupted at all speed ranges, have good acceleration.

At all stages of run-in the engine must not overheat and have knocks of main and connecting rod bearings, pistons, piston pins, valves, drive of gas distributing mechanism. At the end of the run-in, the engine is not stopped, but smoothly loaded until the speed drops to nominal. Readings of the whole mechanism are determined.

The design of the bench using a compressor load device saves electricity for running the engine during hot running of the engine, as well as obtaining compressed air. Compressed air accumulates in the main two receivers installed on the containment section. Receivers are connected to the air main line of the enterprise, where compressed air is supplied.

Since when working with a bench, a person should be in close proximity to electrical devices, heated parts of ICE, rotating parts and flammable liquids, the following safety measures should be applied: all electrical appliances must be grounded, and the supply network is insulated, heated objects, if possible, insulate with an asbestos cord, rotating parts are covered with casings, exhaust gases must be discharged to the atmosphere, exhaust must be used to prevent ignition of fuel, sand, fire extinguisher must be present.

Check of technical condition

Before starting operation, it is necessary to check the strength of the shaft connection with the clutch, whether protective casings are installed and fixed, the presence of insulation on the supply network of electrical appliances, the condition and reliability of the grounding cable attachment, in accordance with the operating rules of the engine run-in bench.
